We All Remember Our  First Love,

When Hearts Beat Faster and Life’s Not So Tough.

When You Kiss Someone For The First Time,

Hoping That You Do It Right,

And Everything was Fine.

The First Time We Went For a Walk,

Laughing, Joking and Having a Talk.

The First Time That We Held Hands,

As We Start To Arrange Future Plans.

To Seal This Romance We All Say,

Those Three Words That Will Always Stay.

Sometimes Afraid Of What The Reply Might Be,

I Love You…..Now Let’s Wait and See.

Driving…You Up The Wall.

We All Remember Learning To Drive,

As We Sit at The Wheel All Nervous Inside. 

Seat Belt On With a Firm Click, 

Checking For Neutral That is The Gear Stick.

Mirror Signal Manoeuvre As The Car Begins To Move,

Then The Engine Cuts Out Before It Could Cruise. 

“Not Enough Acceleration and Clutch Brought Up To Soon” 

As The Instructor Says “Let’s Start Again”

Then Whistles a Nervous Tune.

A Few Lessons Later Its Now Time To Take The Test,  

Will The ‘L’ Plates Disappear? 

It’s Up To You To Decide The Rest.

Jobs…A Goodun.

We All Remember Our First Job,

When It’s Time To Enter The Big World,

To Earn a Few Bob.

Meeting New People Who Show You What To Do,

Then Leaving You To Work Away,

While They Go Off and Have a Brew.

Join The Workers Union You Are Asked To Do,

When Negotiating Annual Pay That’s Always Overdue.

Nervous With a Show Off Hands When Your Asked To Take a Vote, 

Just Going With The Majority Accepting It With Hope.

All In or All Out What Do You Think?

On a Pay Deal That Could Kick Up Quite a Stink.

Holiday…Horrors.

We All Remember Our First Trip, 

Getting On a Plane and Feeling Sick. 

Walking Through The X-Ray Machine,

As Your Bags Now Follow Through,

With The Customs on The Other Side,

Ready To Search You.

Understanding Cultures and The Language Too,

Falling For a Boy or Girl Lounging By The Pool.

Spending Funny Money in Restaurants and Bars, 

Staggering Back to Your Digs Underneath The Stars.

Walking The Beach With No Footwear On,

As The Sand Gets Hot Where The Sun Has Shone.

Ooooing and Ahhing As Your Feet Start To Burn, 

A Valuable Lesson That We All Learn.

Now It is Time To Fly Back Home,

All Sun Burnt as You Moan and Groan.

Clothes Just Thrown in The Suitcase,

Gifts For The Family Bought in Haste.

Will The Plane Be On Time,

Well That You Just Don’t Know, 

Waiting Hour After Hour,  

Before That Plane Could Go.

A Technical Issue Could Arise, 

A Rogue Suitcase Can Too,

As The X-Ray Machine Beckons You,

For You to Walk On Through.

Will It Go Off We Shall See, 

Because I Know It Always Happens To Me.

What Do We Say After Being Away, 

All Tired and Stressed After a Break,

Could Do With Another Holiday, 

Let’s Get Away and Escape.

We All Learn Things Every Day, 

Whether They Are Easy or The Hard Way.

Doing Things We Have Never Done,

Having a Laugh and Making it Fun.

There is a First Time For Everything,

In What We All Do…Interview For a First Job,

Or Buying Something New.

Learning to Swim in The Pool,

Your First Dance Too.

There’s a First Time For Everything,

In What We All Do.
