The streets are empty, the roads are bare
The Streets are Empty, The Roads are Bare,
Holidays are Cancelled, No Planes in The Air!
Cruise Ships Stuck at Sea,
All Over the World, in Different Countries.
Pubs are Shutting, No Last Orders Please!!!
Restaurants not Serving Food, No Mouths to Feed.
Cinemas are Closing, No Movies to Watch,
No Shows Anymore, Theatre Doors are Locked.
Some Shops are Closing, Stores are Too,
Panic Buying by People Waiting in the Queue.
They Should be Ashamed of Themselves Clearing the Shelves,
And Taking All the Food.
Buying Toilet Rolls from All Different Classes,
To Busy Thinking about Their Own Arses!
No Concerts To Go To So We Can’t have a Cheer,
Some even Cancelled until the Next Year.
No Dancing in Nightclubs to Our Favourite Songs,
Not even The Foxtrot, The Jive,
The List Goes On and On!
Weddings on Hold for The Bride and Groom,
No Vows to be Read and to say That I Do.
No Sixteenth, Eighteenth, Twenty First Parties,
Even Couples Celebrating Anniversaries.
The Stadiums are Quiet, No One to Support!
No Swimming at Leisure Centres, Can’t Play any Sport.
Gyms are Hit so We Can’t Keep Fit, No Yoga Classes To,
No Running, No Lifting, No Bending or Stretching,
For Me and For You.
Schools are Not Teaching, Colleges To.
Nurseries for The Little Ones, The Kids have Nothing to Do.
Crying Because They Don’t Understand,
What is Happening to Our Precious Land.
No Opticians To Go To, We’ve Been Told We Can’t See,
No Check Ups at The Dentist to look at Our Teeth.
Hairdressers and Barbers, they’ve been Given The Snip,
Even The Nail Salons, Their Nails have been Clipped.
But the Most Important Part of Our Lives?
Are Our Friends and Family,
And the Sad Part for Most of Us, We All Cannot See.
Thank God for Social Media if We Use it the Right Way,
We can Talk, Message and Video Chat Anytime of the Day.
Five Words and Three Letters are what Matters to Us!
‘STAY SAFE AND SUPPORT THE NHS’
In Who We All Trust.
We All Take Life For Granted In Whatever We Do,
Let’s Help One Another and We Will All See This Through.
2020, We Will Remember For One Thing,
The Coughing, The Sneezing and Not Breathing.
Keep Washing Your Hands and Stay Two Metres Apart.
Follow The Goverment’s Advice and That’s Just The Start.
As This Evil Spreads Across The World,
Like A Blanket Covering Our Planet,
And Lives Are Being Lost, Every Second Every Minute.
We Will Always Remember With Heavy Hearts,
What This Year Has Brought To Us,
Because This Will Be Remembered,
‘AS THE YEAR THAT NEVER WAS’
