ROUTINE..OR..OCD...

I Stretch My Arms Right Over My Head,

The Bathroom Awaits as I Leave My Bed.

It’s Time For A Shower, Something Else and A Shave,

As I Close The Door Behind Me,

To My Little Man Cave.

30 MINUTES…

Like Stars In Their Eyes

I Come Back Through The Door,

All Refreshed For The Day,

Now Ready For Some More.

Clothes On The Hanger Clean Shirt and Blue Tie,

Trousers Nicely Pressed All Ready To Try.

Deodorant On My Body Smelling Nice and Fresh,

Putting On My Socks and Pants,

As I Sit Here On The Bed.

15 MINUTES…

Looking Smart If I Say So Myself,

As My Watch and Wallet Leave The Shelf.

Hair All Done and Aftershave On,

Phone At The Ready,

For Calls When They Come.

Time Is Good As I Head Downstairs,

The Kitchen Awaits For Lunch To Prepare.

Sandwiches Some Fruit a Biscuit Or Two,

A Crafty Cake For The Afternoon.

20 MINUTES…

Kitchen All Tidy Cutlery Put Away,

Ready To Revisit Later In The Day.

Door Is Shut Now I’m Nearly Done,

Just A Few More Final Checks,

Before I Move On.

One More Flight Up The Stairs,

One More Check As I Look and Stare.

Doors Shut and Windows Are Closed,

Lights All Off Now It’s Time To Go.

6 MINUTES…

As I Carry Myself To The Door,

I Look Back To Check The House Once More.

Shoes Now Placed On My Feet,

Front Door Open Then On The Street.

But I Am Not Quite Finished,

There Is One More Chore,

Now It Is Time To Lock The Door.

Handle Up Key In Lock,

Now I Feel I’m On The Clock.

People Walking As They Pass Me By,

As I Catch Them Watching,

In The Corner Of My Eye.

Door Is Locked As I Go Back Again,

The Door Is Locked As I Return Again.

One More Time I Knows It’s A Pain,

The Door Is Locked Once Again.

5 MINUTES…

Call It What You Want Is It OCD?

To Be Quite Frank It Doesn’t Matter To Me.

This Is What I Call My Daily Routine,

A Daily Habit I Got Myself In.

Excuse Me For A Minute,

While I Check The Door Again.

Damm Now I’m Late…

It’s Ten Past Ten.
