SNOW GLOBE

Skeleton of trees covered in snow

Skeleton Trees Covered in Snow,

The Sun in The Sky Letting off a Warm Glow.

Ice now Melting from The Rooftops Falling to The Ground,

Forming Pools of Water with a Drip Drip Dripping Sound.

The Hills are Covered Like Icing on a Cake,

As The Breeze Picks Up Sprinkling More and More Flakes.

Coats, Hats and Gloves We are All Putting On,

Now We know that Winter has Come.

Children Playing in The Snow,

Their Rosy Red Cheeks All Aglow.

Breathing Cold Air In and Out as a Joke,

Like Dragons Blowing Out Lots of Thick Smoke.

Making Snowmen that Begin to come Alive,

A Carrot for its Nose and Buttons for those Eyes.

Snowballs Being Thrown,

As You Hear them Laugh and Scream,

Then Sleighing Down The Hills,

Now They’re Living The Dream.

Footprints Left in The Snow,

Paths that are Made, But Where Do They Go?

Some Going Left, Some Going Right,

Some Just Melting Plain Out of Sight.

A Couple Out for Their Winter Walk,

Slipping and Sliding as They Continue to Talk.

It’s Like Watching a Version of Dancing on Ice,

Could Do Better, Would Be My Advice.

A White Sheet comes across The Sky,

As More Snow Descends in Front of My Eyes.

Children Still Playing, The Adults Too,

As I Gaze Out at this Beautiful View.

While I Look Out Through My Window,

They Are Looking In,

The Lights Switch on Around Me,

Songs and Carols then Begin.

My House is Like a Snow Globe,

There is a Story to be Told.

Shake Me….Then It Will Start,

And The Story Will Unfold?
