As I sit here watching all the people going by

As I Sit Here Watching All The People Going By,
You Suddenly Walk Pass Me Catching My Eye.
Your Eyes and Face Covered with Your Sunglasses On,
Your Hair Shining Brightly in The Morning Sun.
Your Beautiful Dress Flowing Naturally,
As You Carry on Walking Without Noticing Me.
Your Perfume Cascades through The Air,
You are now in The Distance but I Still Look and Stare.
Hoping that I will See You Again,
Same Time, Same Place from where You Came.
I Couldn’t Stop Thinking about Her Last Night,
And where She was Going as She went Out of Sight.
Was She Planning on Meeting Up with Someone,
Or just Out Walking Catching some Sun.
I Couldn’t Stop Thinking about Her Last Night,
Desperate for The Dark to Turn into Light.
Dreaming about Her Looking at Me,
But All I can do is Just Wait and See.
The Next Day Comes and I’m Off Again,
To The Place Where I Always Go,
Not Expecting to See Her, (I Sigh)
....(BUT YOU NEVER KNOW)
People Come and Go, then they Disappear,
But The Girl I Dreamt of that Went on By,
Still Does Not Appear.
Maybe it’s Not Meant to Be,
This Vision that Walked Past Me.
The Sun is Shining Down on Me,
I Shield My Eyes I Cannot See,
But as I Start to Focus My Sight,
The Girl in My Dream’s comes through The Light.
What Should I Say? What Should I Do?
Shall I Speak The Language of Love and Try to Impress,
As She is Coming Towards Me in a Bright Summer Dress.
I Take a Deep Breath and then I Say,
“parlez-vous francais?”
(Translation: do you speak French?)
A Smile comes over Her Face,
A Smile that Lights Up a Room.
"oui monsieur comment ca va?"
(Translation: yes sir how are you)
Now I Am Sounding More Like Del Boy,
Thinking I could Speak French,
I Should have just Spoken in English,
And used My Common Sense.
I Am Trying to Find More Words in French,
But now I Think She can Tell,
I Can only Think of Three More Words,
So I Just Say to Her,
“tus es belle.”
(Translation: you are beautiful)
As Silence Comes Around Us,
Clouds are Masking The Sun,
I Wait for Her Reply to Me,
But I Think I’ve said Something Wrong.
The Sun Fights its Way Through Again,
It Starts to Shine on Me and Her,
A Spotlight Waiting for The Answer.
“merci monsieur.”
(Translation: thank you sir)
We Gaze into each Other’s Eyes,
Then We Laugh until We Cried.
The Day could Not get any Better than That,
We Went for a Walk and had a Good Chat.
Her English was Good, in fact Better than Mine,
As We Sat and had Drinks having a Good Time.
Our Day Together was Coming to an End,
So We Began to Walk back from where We Came.
I Walked so Slowly But it was Still too Quick,
The Conversation so Quiet,
Well just The Odd Word let Slip.
We Kissed Each Other’s Cheeks, then She said to Me,
“au revoir”
(Translation: goodbye)
My Heart Grew Sadder as We Parted Company.
Looking over Our Shoulders as We took to Different Paths,
Will this be The Last Time I See Her,
Or Will Our Accents Keep Us Apart?
I Arrive Back at My Hotel,
My Heart Still Feeling Sad and Unwell.
I Could Still Smell Her Perfume Breathing through The Air,
As I Walk to The Bar for a Glass of Cold Beer.
“excusez moi s’il vous plait”
(Translation: excuse me please)
“oui monsieur”
(Translation: yes sir)
As She Turns My Way.
What Happens Next Comes A Shock To Me!!!
Part Two To Come Very Shortly?
a poursuivre
(Translation: to be continued)
